Linda Avila is a freelance nature photographer based out of Los Angeles, who specializes in realism and abstraction via the 35mm format. Her work respects the philosophy that a picture is worth a thousand words, yet compels the viewer to look beyond the captured image for a deeper appreciation of nature's unique and playful personality, as well as it's awesome powers of creation, evolution and destruction. Although she is extremely disciplined in technique, Linda's willingness to allow creativity to run unharnessed is what makes her work so special. By recognizing and showing the truly incredible ingredients of nature; light, color, texture, and existence, she offers a rare glimpse into all that surrounds us.

Linda's enlightening connection with nature, appreciation for it's endless beauty, and ability to capture it's most magnificent details on film, is influenced by the thousands of hours she has spent exploring and photographing the North American wilderness. An Avid hiker, she has climbed over 230 mountain peaks, including Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the continental United States.

Linda's extensive file of color slides and black and white photographs is now available for stock, as well as for corporate and private acquisition.
