Although underwater photography is his primary interest, Hal Beral has expanded his interests into bird photography in recent years. He has spent many days in remote parts of the world known for great diving, such as the Solomon Islands, New Guinea and Indonesia. While keeping himself busy at his "day job", Hal sells most of his images through agents. Over the years he has won a number of contests including first place in the BBC Photographer of the Year contest as well as being named "Highly Commended" in the Natures Best contest. His work is on display at the American Museum of Natural Hisory and will soon be a part of the new exhibit at the National Aquarium.
