Jeff Vanuga's photographic career covers subjects including North American and African wildlife, nature, scenics, and people involved in outdoor recreations. There is an emphasis on western ranch life of Wyoming, horses, and agricultural activities. Publications have been international in scope and cover various forms of media.

In addition to publishing, the photography of Jeff Vanuga has won numerous prestigious awards, including a 1st place in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition (composition and form), first place in the National Wildlife Photographic Competition, numerous awards presented by the Outdoor Writers Association of America (member since 1986), and honorable mention in the Nikon Photo Contest International. Jeff's work has been on display twice at the Nikon House, Rockefeller Center, New York, and several viewings at the Museum of Natural History in Salt lake City, Utah.

In addition to teaching at Off the Beaten Path, Joseph Van Os Photo Tours, and workshops for Central Wyoming College in western Wyoming, Jeff has also served as Director of Photography at the Audubon Camp of the West.
